Restoring Hope at Christmas: The Inspire World International Foundation (IWIF) Reaches Vulnerable Families in Mararaba

The Inspire World International Foundation (IWIF) has concluded its 2025 humanitarian activities with its annual Christmas Food and Welfare Outreach held in the Mararaba community. The outreach, which marked IWIF’s final intervention of the year, brought together vulnerable families, children, and women from Mararaba and surrounding neighboring communities for a day of nourishment, empowerment, and renewed hope.

The outreach addressed immediate food insecurity while also providing long-term livelihood support, reflecting IWIF’s commitment to restoring dignity and strengthening resilience within underserved communities. Through a combination of cooked meals, food supplies, gifts, and economic empowerment tools, the initiative reached over 850 adults and children, making it the largest single outreach carried out by IWIF in 2025.

Key outcomes from the outreach include:

  • Cooked meals served to 602 adults, ensuring individuals and families enjoyed a decent and nourishing Christmas meal.
  • Cooked meals and gift items distributed to 257 children, creating a joyful festive experience for young beneficiaries.
  • Raw food items provided to 412 households, enabling families to prepare meals throughout the Christmas season.
  • Economic empowerment support for 7 women, who received grinding machines, a sewing machine, grains, and cash to strengthen their small businesses and improve household income.

Participants included residents of Mararaba as well as individuals from neighboring communities, underscoring IWIF’s growing regional reach and its commitment to inclusive community impact.

One of the women empowered during the outreach, a mother of three, received a sewing machine to expand her tailoring business. Speaking with gratitude, she said, “This gift has completely changed my life. I now have the tools to earn a steady income, support my family, and send my children to school. This support has given me hope.”

Speaking on the significance of the outreach, Chris Chukwunyere, Co-Founder and Executive Director of IWIF, emphasized the deeper purpose behind the initiative.

“This outreach is more than giving meals or gifts. It is about restoring hope and creating opportunities for families to thrive,” he said. “Reaching over 850 people in a single day, including families from neighboring communities, fills my heart with joy. Ending 2025 with this outreach makes it especially meaningful, and none of this would have been possible without the generous support of our donors, friends, and family members.”

The Christmas Food and Welfare Outreach aligns with IWIF’s broader mission to combat hunger and poverty through The ZERO Project, an initiative focused on ending hunger through both immediate relief and sustainable solutions. By combining food support with livelihood empowerment, IWIF continues to ensure that beneficiaries are not only supported in moments of need but are also equipped to build stable and self-reliant futures.

Olusola Chris-Chukwunyere, Co-Founder and Director of Strategy and Coordination at IWIF, highlighted the cumulative impact of the foundation’s work throughout the year.

“Celebrating Christmas by giving back is a powerful reminder of what collective action can achieve,” she said. “Every life we touch represents a family, a community, and an extension of society itself. Ending the year with this outreach reflects our commitment to lasting impact. In 2025 alone, IWIF has fed over 3,000 people and provided food support to more than 2,000 households.”

The outreach reaffirms IWIF’s dedication to uplifting lives, strengthening communities, and building resilience across Nigeria, especially during seasons when vulnerable families are most at risk.
